Sia May Return To Touring

Sia has been very vocal about her struggles with stage fright and touring, but in an interview with NME she admitted that it’s becoming increasingly difficult to maintain her hardline stance of not playing live.

“I’m seeing some crazy numbers,” she says, speaking about offers on the table ”When they keep coming I’m like, ‘is it worth it now?’ because it could mean that I don’t ever have to do anything again.”

Taylor Swift And Kanye West To Record Together

No, we didn’t teleport back to 2009, Kanye West is still fighting for Beyoncé (unasked, if facial expressions are anything to go by), taking to the stage after Beck won Album of The Year at the 2015 Grammy Awards, but one thing was different from the controversial first time Yeezy stormed the stage… he and arch rival Taylor Swift are cool with each other, and apparently recording music together.

In a post show interview, ‘Ye confirmed that he and Tay are “going into the studio together”, confiding to Ryan Seacrest his plans for the as yet titled record.

Jay Z To Buy Spotify Competitor Aspiro

Like he said in ‘Diamonds From Sierra Leone’, he’s “not a businessman, he’s a business, man”. Jay-Z is set to expand his empire with an offer to buy Swedish music streaming company Aspiro for an estimated $US56 million.

If the bid is successful, Jay will add in Aspiro with the Roc Nation record label and sports management company, 40/40 Club chain, and Rocafella fragrances as his extracurricular business activities.

First Look At Daredevil: The TV Series

Superheroes are having a TV Renaissance, with Matt Murdock (aka Daredevil) joining the likes of The Flash, Green Arrow, and the Agents of SHIELD in getting his story brought to TV…and we’ve got your first look! Netflix have just released the first trailer for the ‘Daredevil‘ series and even in the short clip, it’s clear that it’s far superior to the forgettable (read: horrible) Ben Affleck-led films.

Starring British actor Charlie Cox, the 13 episode series will follow Matt, who was blinded as a boy but gifted with extraordinarily heightened senses, and his vigilante alter ego, Daredevil. Fighting injustice by day a tough-talking lawyer, before he takes on the city’s crime world by night as a masked vigilante.

Bad Manners Australian Tour 2015

UK Ska faithfuls, Bad Manners have been touring since 1976, and now, are set to bring their energetic live show to Australia in June. Playing five headline shows, the band along with eccentric frontman Buster Bloodvessel will take over venues across Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney, Perth and Brisbane.

Kele Okereke Australian Tour March 2015

Bloc Party front-man and house music aficionado Kele Okereke is headed to our shores next month, bringing his all new solo show built around his latest release, Trick. Last touring as part of Perth’s Circo Festival II, this will be Kele’s largest headline tour of Australia yet.

Turning to dance for his solo career wasn’t as much of a leap as people may have thought, with Kele saying “Most people know me as the singer in Bloc Party, but anyone that knows our music knows that we have always been very honest about our love of dance music”.

Title Fight Australian Tour 2015

In noisier tour news, US punk rockers, Title Fight have just announced that they’ll be heading down under for a headline tour this June in support for their upcoming release, Hyperview.

The group will be playing 12 shows right around the country, beginning in Brisbane then making their way down the East Coast before finishing in Perth. And in news to make many of the fans happy, most shows have been organised to accommodate all-ages.

Pharrell Williams Adds Children’s Book Author To His Resume

Pharrell Williams is a jack of all trades; a super producer, singer-songwriter, designer, giant hat enthusiast, and now, he can add author of children’s books to his already-long resume, signing a four book deal with Penguin Publishing, with his first book to be inspired by his hit song ‘Happy’.

“I’m humbled by the global success of Happy, but especially in awe of the song’s young fans… My collaboration with Penguin allows me to continue a dialogue with these children in a fresh, new way. We’re both committed to feeding the curiosity of young minds with imagination,” he said in a statement.

After a mammoth 2014, Australia’s Got Talent and X Factor favourite Taylor Henderson has just announced he will make his way around the country this April touring Australia on a 13 date tour.

Winning audiences over with his father on AGT 2010 and winning a spot as a finalist on The X-Factor in 2013, Taylor has become one of Australia’s most loved faces. Two extensive headline tours and a support spot on tour with MKTO later, Taylor is bringing his unique blend of pop, folk and country for the first time in 2015, on the back of his gold-certified sophomore release, Burnt Letters, and lead single “When You Were Mine” following suit and attaining platinum certification.

RJ Mitte Goes From Breaking Bad To Breaking Beats

Walt Jr. is swapping crystal meth for DJ decks, with the actor behind the Breaking Bad character, RJ Mitte, set to play an event in New York… aptly named Breaking Beats.

While a little left of field, his DJ spot on the Breaking Bad themed event line up isn’t unprecedented, with some of the other cast dabbling in music. Last year, his cast mate Aaron Paul (aka Jesse Pinkman) recorded a tongue in cheek house track based around his character’s signature catch phrase.

Star Wars VII Gets Official Title

The new Star Wars films have been marred with controversy since it’s announcement – and have been the subject of many rumours ever since – but finally, an official announcement has put the rumours to rest. In an uncharacteristic move, the title of the film was revealed in a tweet from the official movie Twitter account, and the news that principal filming has been wrapped. What’s the title? Star Wars VII: The Force Awakens.

Little is known about the plot of the film, but what is known is that the JJ Abrams-directed film features a new cast made up of Adam Driver, Andy Serkis, Lupita Nyong’o and Oscar Isaac, with cameos from original cast members Harrison Ford (Han Solo), Carrie Fisher (Princess Leia) and Mark Hammill (Luke Skywalker).

After a week-long absence of the judge with the most glam hair, Keith’s finally back behind the panel’s desk after being covered by contestant-turned-guest judge, Adam Lambert, and he along with J-Lo and Harry are headed to Minneapolis hoping to find the next American Idol. Unfortunately, they don’t strike gold straight away (although there is a gold microphone involved).

Meet Kemil Casey. He carries a gold mic because it makes auditioning more realistic, he says…more than actually singing, I guess? He attempts a cover of Michael Jackson’s Human Nature and more than anything else, proved that some songs aren’t meant to be covered. Indie-pop darling, Lana Del Rey has let slip that she’s already recording new music for her next album, teasing details and announcing track names in a recent interview with the LA Times.

While discussing the music she has contributed to the new Tim Burton film, Big Eyes, she was asked whether writing for film is different than recording for herself and her answer gave the first glimpse into her upcoming third record.
