Laneway favorites The Drums are due back this November for another round of Aussie madness! Kicking off their three-date tour in Brisbane on the 29th of November, and then continuing onto Sydney and Melbourne, the Brooklyn-based group will be hitting the stage for the first time as a duo instead of a four-piece ensemble.

The boys will be showcasing their latest studio album, ¡®Encyclopedia¡¯, which they hoped would allow fans to hear a different element of the group¡¯s creativity. The new material is about straying away from what we know, and promises ¡°liberal sprinklings of tambourine¡± and an overall ¡°upbeat tempo¡± from their previous signature ¡°brooding¡± sound.

Jonny Pierce and Jacob Graham have become the last men standing from the band¡¯s original lineup and are pleased with the direction the controversial split took the group, stating that the revamp of their work has left them with renewed creativity.

¡°We¡¯re back where we started and the slate is clean,¡± Pierce says of the breakup. ¡°Jacob and I were the brains behind this in the first place and we can make any decisions we want right now.¡±

With founding and integral member Connor Hanwick first to abandon the group due to exhaustion and tensions within the group in 2012, the band has rolled in and out of periods of dormantness and confusion in the past two years. The ¡®Encyclopedia¡¯ tour is as much about refreshing the fans, as it is Pierce and Graham.
