Californian pop punk outfit Say Anything are returning to Aussie shores for a national tour this October.

Fronted by the always self-deprecating Max Bemis, the 6-piece will bring new material from the band¡¯s sixth full-length, Hebrews, as well as tracks from their extensive backlog of ¡°unclassifiable indie rock music.¡±

Renowned for their sarcastic and playfully dark lyrics, as well as themes such as Bemis¡¯ Jewish Heritage and bipolar disorder, Say Anything has amassed a loyal following in their 15 years as a band.

Ten years have passed since the band¡¯s cult classic, ¡­ Is A Real Boy, however Hebrews is the most explicitly religiously driven album to date.

¡°It¡¯s not a record about being Jewish; it¡¯s about understanding where my neuroses come from. Is it from society, my parents or from the dawn of man?¡± Bemis said of Hebrews.

Ditching traditional guitar riffs for orchestral string arrangements, Say Anything¡¯s latest release boasts a long list of all-star collaborators, including Manchester Orchestra¡®s Andy Hull, Saves The Day¡®s Chris Conley, Matt Pryor of The Get Up Kids, Every Time I Die¡®s Keith Buckley, Aaron Weiss of mewithoutYou, Sherri DuPree-Bemis of Eisley (a.k.a. Max Bemis¡¯ wife) and Blink-182¡®s Tom DeLonge. It¡¯s like the most delicious cocktail of early ¡®00s post-punk-pre-hardcore names ever to be served up on one album.

The upcoming headline tour of Australia, will see the band play five dates across the country, kicking off in Perth, before moving onto Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney and then Brisbane.
