Controversial American singer Lana Del Rey has confirmed that she plans to return Down Under for a national tour, however she is not certain of exact dates just yet.

In a recent interview with Triple J, Lana Del Rey told Richard Kingsmill that she hopes to tour Australia in the near future.

¡°I¡¯m thinking about at the end of this year¡± the ¡®West Coast¡¯ singer said. ¡°I¡¯m not entirely sure yet.¡± This could mean that fans might catch the sultry songstress at one of Australia¡¯s summer music festivals, such as Falls Festival or the newly announced Beyond The Valley festival in Phillip Island which is set to cater for an intimate crowd of 12,000 people.

The aforementioned tour will come in light of the release of Del Rey¡¯s latest album, Ultraviolence, which was released in June this year, and recently hit No.1 on the Aussie album charts.

The thick-lipped singer also spoke of her time working with the Black Keys frontman Dan Auberbach, who was responsible for producing her latest album. ¡°The thing about Dan was that he was interested in me, and he was interested in the record, and he made me feel interesting again¡± she said. ¡°Sometimes it¡¯s down to you, and sometimes it¡¯s down to another person, so for me it was about another person this time.¡±

Del Rey also touched on her controversial comment regarding an early death, where she told The Guardian, ¡°I wish I was dead already¡± which recently sparked a media frenzy. The morbid comment even attracted the attention of Francis Bean Cobain, the late daughter of Kurt Cobain, who chided the singer for glorifying death.

¡°The death of young musicians isn¡¯t something to romanticise,¡± Frances Bean wrote on Twitter. She went on to say, ¡°I¡¯ll never know my father because he died young and it becomes a desirable feat because people like you think it¡¯s ¡®cool¡¯. Well, it¡¯s fucking not. Embrace life, because you only get one life.¡±

It seems Del Rey struck a nerve with her frank comment. However, it should come as no surprise that she has such views ¨C if the title didn¡¯t say enough, her song ¡®Born To Die¡¯ includes lyrics like: ¡°This is the last time/Cause you and I/We were born to die.¡±

The ¡®Summertime Sadness¡¯ crooner went on to explain how she felt when people didn¡¯t take her seriously, saying that it bothered her. ¡°I wanted to make sure that the music was okay. I wanted the stories in the songs to be intact, and when people have their own impressions about how you got to where you got to it can change their mind about the music.¡±

So keep your ears and eyes open for more information regarding Lana Del Rey¡¯s impending tour, we¡¯ve heard it¡¯s going to be ¡°sweet like cinnamon.¡±
