The first full-length trailer for the forthcoming Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles remake has been revealed.

The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise started out as a comic book in the 80¡¯s, with the four sewer-dwelling anthropomorphic turtles, named after Renaissance artists, spawning a TV series and trilogy of films: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1990), the sequel Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Secret Of The Ooze (1991) and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III (1997).

The reboot, which is directed by Jonathan Liebesman (Wrath Of The Titans¡®) and produced by Michael Bay (Transformers) will see the crime fighting team ¨C Leonardo, Raphael, Michelangelo and Donatello ¨C hot the big screen for the first time since 2007¡¯s TMNT.

The film boasts quite a lineup of actors; Jackass actor Johnny Knoxville, who will lend his vocals to the character of Leonardo, Noel Fisher ¨C best known for his role as Mickey Milkovich in Shameless US ¨C will play Michelangelo, and Arrested Development¡¯s Will Arnett will portray Vernon Fenwick. Other big names attached to the project include mega-babe Megan Fox, William Fichtner and Tony Shalhoub.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles centres the four mutant warriors, when they are forced to team up with fearless reporter April O¡¯Neil (Megan Fox) to take down the diabolical Shredder and his foot clan, who hold an iron grip on the police and politicians in New York City.

The trailer is action-packed, explosive and slightly humorous. It begins, with the narrator saying: ¡°Crime, violence and fear have run rampant. Our great city is being destroyed¡ people want justice restored to this world. People want heroes.¡± Cue a montage of the awesome foursome scaling buildings, sliding down mountains amidst an apocalyptic NYC backdrop. Oh, and it ends with Megan Fox fainting at the sight of the mutants ¨C a bit of a clich¨¦, but we¡¯ll leave that one for the fans to decide.

It would also seem that the feud between Megan Fox and producer Michael Bay is over, with the two working on the TMNT together ¨C Fox once compared the Director to Hitler after she was fired from the Transformers movies for being a prima donna, only to be replaced by Rosie Huntington-Whiteley.

Bay himself confirmed the news, posting on his blog: ¡°TMNT: we are bringing Megan Fox back into the family!¡±

Although the film was shelved last June, TMNT is scheduled for release later this year. The Australian dates are yet to be confirmed.
