UK-based indie rockers Bombay Bicycle Club have announced that they will be returning to Australian shores for a tour along the East Coast this September.

The tour will mark the first Australian dates the London quartet has played in two years, and comes off the back of the release of their fourth studio album, So Long, See You Tomorrow, which dropped back in February.

The foursome, comprised of Jack Steadman, Jamie MacColl, Suren de Saram and Ed Nash, will play tracks from all four albums, including singles ¡®Luna¡¯ and ¡®Carry Me¡¯ from the band¡¯s latest release. The critically-acclaimed So Long, See You Tomorrow is the fourth album by BBC in five years, and was penned and produced by frontman, Steadman, in the band¡¯s studio over 18 months.

Bombay Bicycle Club signed a record deal after leaving secondary school, unleashing their guitar-driven debut, the NME award-winning, I Had The Blues But I Shook Them Loose, unto the world in 2009. BBC¡¯s latest LP became their first UK Albums Chart #1 back in February, outselling EDM superstar Avicii¡¯s ¡®True¡¯ by more than 6,000 copies.

¡°We¡¯re all feeling very privileged to be able to tell you that the album has gone to number one¡± Bombay Bicycle Club wrote on their Facebook page, following the news. ¡°We didn¡¯t start making music for moments like this but it¡¯s impossible to deny that it¡¯s incredibly exciting nonetheless.¡±

The tour will see the band hit Aussie highways to play three exclusive shows at The Tivoli in Brisbane, Metro Theatre in Sydney (all ages show) and The Forum in Melbourne.

Tickets go on sale for the general public from 10am this Tuesday July 22.
