Pitbull, Jennifer Lopez

They don’t call him Mr Worldwide for nothing! Pitbull and his experienced muse Jennifer Lopez, have had one of their tracks officially named as the 2014 Brazil World Cup anthem.

The song ‘We Are One (Ole Ola)‘, which also features Brazilian singer Claudia Leitte will be the official track for FIFA, and will be performed at the opening ceremony in Arena De Sao Paulo on June 12th.

The singer-producer said he was honored to be part of the event. “I’m honored to join Jennifer Lopez and Claudia Leitte at the FIFA World Cup to bring the world together” said Pitbull in a statement.

“I truly believe that this great game and the power of music will help unify us, because we are best when we are one.”

Jennifer Lopez too said she was thrilled to be part of the celebrations. “I grew up in a house that loved football, so I am thrilled to be performing at the World Cup opening ceremonies with Pitbull and Claudia Leitte“.

The song will be released later this year in the build-up to the World Cup and will be included in the official 2014 FIFA World Cup album.

Pitbull and Jennifer Lopez will replace Shakira, who performed the hit song ‘Waka Waka’ at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa. Other famous artists who have performed anthems at the global soccer tournament include Ricky Martin (in France 1998, with the ever-famous ‘La Copa Del Vida’) and Il Divo at Germany 2006.
