Loveable geek turned cool, Michael Cera has been cast in the new comedy ¡°How and Why¡°, alongside actor John Hawkes.

The 30 minute program will look at the life of a man who can ¡°explain how and why a nuclear reactor works but is clueless about life¡±.

In simple terms, it follows Hawkes as Goodman Heselman, the host of the show (within the show) who is replaced by the younger host. Michael Cera is set to play Hawkes¡¯ boss, Mendelson.

The new show is created, directed and produced by Charlie Kaufman, the mastermind behind such wacky, head-scratching, yet critical acclaim films, Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind and Being John Malkovich.

It will begin filming in North Carolina later this month, before being aired on the Fox entertainment channel, FX.

On a further note regarding FX, the station has also decided to produce a new comedy starring Hangover star Zach Galifianakis. Controversial comedian, Louis CK will produce it.
