Fans of Goldfrapp no longer have to wait, with the band’s new album being released this week. ‘Tales Of Us‘ is the British duo Alison Goldfrapp and Will Gregory’s sixth studio album, but promises to be it’s most loved especially after the release of it’s first single, ‘Annabel’.
The music video is already out on the net, and has been met with a rousing reception, with many praising its “stark and dark” visuals. The clip follows a young boy who is struggling with his gender identity and goes for a whopping seven minutes, but not one of those minutes is wasted.
Funnily enough, ‘Annabel’ isn’t the only real-life “name” used on the album. All the tracks, with the exception of ‘Stranger‘ are all named after people; boys and girls.
And the album itself has been met with critical acclaim from music critics, with the San Francisco Chronicle praising the change of style, saying that “the payoff is undeniably beautiful”, while Mimo.com said ‘Tales of Us’ was “arguably their most mesmerizing offering yet.”
