Peter Dinklage’s X-Men Villain Makes First Appearance!

The first image of Peter Dinklage as the villain in X-Men: Days Of Future Past has been released on the net! The Emmy Award winning star of Game Of Thrones will play Bolivar Trask, a military scientist who creates a range of menacing robots, called “Sentinels” with the objectives to destroy the mutant race.

As well as the release of the photo, a mock website and trailer of Bolivar’s fictional “Trask Industries” has been released on the net, in a bid to promote the film’s long waited release. That could be some while yet, with the shooting of the film yet to be finished, with the production expected to be over in September this year.

The film is loosely based on the X-Men comic series, “Days of Future Past”, where Sentinels who hunt down the X-Men, rule the future. Given the latest information, its quite clear that Dinklage is the villain behind it all.

This is a break in play for the American actor, who has made his name as the cunning and devious Tyrion Lannister in the hit HBO fantasy series.

Dinklage recently appeared at the San Diego Comic-Con show alongside director Bryan Singer and fellow cast members, Ian McKellen, Patrick Stewart, Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence, Halle Berry and Australia’s own Hugh Jackman.

During the appearance, Singer did say that the film will take place in 1973, but will involve time travel (with a title like “Days Of Future Past” it would be expected) which is why both past and future versions of characters have being cast, such as Fassbender and McKellen both playing a younger and older version of Magneto.

The film is scheduled to open in cinemas on July 18, 2014.
