He said he would be ¡°back¡± and now he really is. The Terminator himself, Arnold Schwarzenegger has announced that he will begin filming the fifth installment of the popular franchise, in January 2014.

Schwarzenegger, announced earlier in the year that he was set to return as the Terminator, but had to wait until the script was finished, before pre-production would begin.

During his recent tour of Australia, Schwarzenegger told the 21st Century Financial Education Summit: ¡°I¡¯m very happy that the studios want me to be in Terminator 5 and to star as the Terminator, which we start shooting in January.¡±

The original Terminator, released in 1984, shot Schwarzenegger to stardom, as the cyborg assassin sent back in time to hunt down the leader of the human resistance, which fights against the machine overloads in the future.

The success spawned a sequel, Terminator 2: Judgement Day, which was critically acclaimed and many believe to be one of the best sci-fi films ever made. The film was well known for Arnie¡¯s famous taglines: ¡°Hasta La Vista Baby!¡± and ¡°I¡¯ll be back!¡±

A third film followed in 2003, but received little fan-fare despite the money spent during filming. Schwarzenegger sat out of the fourth film, Terminator Salvation, which starred Christian Bale and Sam Worthington.

The return to filming sees Schwarzenegger play a host of his famous characters, with the former Governor of California, set to play Conan the Barbarian, in the third film of the trilogy, King Conan and Julius Benedict alongside Danny DeVito in the sequel to Twins, which unsurprisingly is called Triplets.
