Coldplay To Release Mylo Xyloto Comic Book!

Global phenomenon, Coldplay has announced they that will release (get ready for it…) a special ‘Mylo Xyloto‘ comic book for Record Store Day.

The comic book will tell the story behind the band’s creation of the 2011 album ‘Mylo Xyloto (which featured the ever-popular and TV advertisement single, Paradise)

The first issue of the comic strip will be released on April 20 alongside a 7″ vinyl picture disc with the massive singles, ‘Hurts Like Heaven‘ and ‘Us Against The World (Live)’

The series was written not just by Coldplay but also by Oscar-nominated writer and director Mark Osborne (who was behind Kung Fu Panda and The Sponge Bob Square Pants Movie). The Simpsons creator Matt Groening will published the comic on behalf of his Bongo Comics Group.

This will continue the already massive success the band has enjoyed over the past year. Their second album ‘A Rush Of Blood To The Head‘ was named BBC Radio 2 listeners’ all-time favourite album. And that’s an massive achievement, considering they beat the likes of rock legends, Pink Floyd‘s ‘The Dark Side Of The Moon‘ and The Beatles‘ ‘Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band

The release of the comic is in part of this year’s Record Store Day that will see a host of special releases of rare, never-before heard tracks available with music icons Paul McCartney, David Bowie, Pulp, Biffy Clyro, The xx, Bat For Lashes (and many, man others) headlining the ever-popular list.
