As part of National Youth Week celebrations, The Push¡¯s Youth Advisory Committee has created YACtion a short film focusing on an insider¡¯s view into Push Over and the all ages music scene in Victoria.

Produced with funding from National Youth Week, YACtion: An Insider¡¯s View Into Push Over & The All Ages Music Scene In Victoria is a documentary that gives an insightful view into some of the different people that are involved in organizing all ages music events and government funded youth organizations operating within Victoria.

Filmed primarily at Push Over, Australia¡¯s longest running all ages drug, alcohol and smoke-free festival which has showcased current and upcoming talent for the past 19 years, the project brings together insights from some of the bands that played at the 2011 event such as Illy, House Vs Hurricane, I Exist, Hunting Grounds (formerly Howl) and Last Dinosaurs, as well as event staff and volunteers who are involved with the festival, whilst also capturing footage of the live music and atmosphere that is synonymous with Push Over.

The Push¡¯s Youth Advisory Committee hopes that the film will inspire more young people to get involved in their local music scene and organise all ages shows. The Push¡¯s Youth Advisory Committee Chair, Danielle Miles says: ¡°It¡¯s a documentary to focus on young people in the music industry, how they got there, and why they decided to pursue a career. We hope to help inspire other young people to get involved.¡±
