The first trailer for X Men: Days Of Future Past has been made public!

The film, which serves as a sequel to both X Men: First Class and X Men: The Last Stand, boasts the biggest line-up for X-Men ever assembled, as it features both ¡°young¡± and ¡°old¡± versions of heroes, coming together.

The official synopsis of the film says it all:

¡°The ultimate X-Men ensemble fights a war for the survival of the species across two time periods in X-Men: Days Of Future Past. Rumours of the story indicate that time-travel will be involved, with some the film, taking place in 1973, and will feature President Richard Nixon as a character.

The story follows the X-Men, as they must stop Peter Dinklage¡¯s character Bolivar Trask, after he creates Sentinels, robots that hunt mutants in a dystopian future.

Director Bryan Singer returns to the take over the reigns of the film, after leaving 2011¡¯s X-Men: First Class to Matthew Vaughn.

He will be joined by regulars Ian McKellen, Patrick Stewart, Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence, (take a breath, because there¡¯s more coming) Hugh Jackman, Halle Berry, Nicholas Hoult, Ellen Page and Anna Paquin.

X-Men: Days Of Future Past opens in Australian cinemas on May 21, 2014.
