First Look At Daredevil: The TV Series

Superheroes are having a TV Renaissance, with Matt Murdock (aka Daredevil) joining the likes of The Flash, Green Arrow, and the Agents of SHIELD in getting his story brought to TV…and we’ve got your first look! Netflix have just released the first trailer for the ‘Daredevil‘ series and even in the short clip, it’s clear that it’s far superior to the forgettable (read: horrible) Ben Affleck-led films.

Starring British actor Charlie Cox, the 13 episode series will follow Matt, who was blinded as a boy but gifted with extraordinarily heightened senses, and his vigilante alter ego, Daredevil. Fighting injustice by day a tough-talking lawyer, before he takes on the city’s crime world by night as a masked vigilante.

Recap: American Idol S14E05 – Gold Mikes And Last Chances

After a week-long absence of the judge with the most glam hair, Keith’s finally back behind the panel’s desk after being covered by contestant-turned-guest judge, Adam Lambert, and he along with J-Lo and Harry are headed to Minneapolis hoping to find the next American Idol. Unfortunately, they don’t strike gold straight away (although there is a gold microphone involved).

Meet Kemil Casey. He carries a gold mic because it makes auditioning more realistic, he says…more than actually singing, I guess? He attempts a cover of Michael Jackson’s Human Nature and more than anything else, proved that some songs aren’t meant to be covered. It’s a no from the judges, but Jennifer reckons he’d make a brilliant manager.

Welcome To New York: American Idol S14E04 Recap

Last week we saw the best that Kansas City had to offer, and now we’re headed to see if New York really is what dreams are made of. We open with a not-at-all set up shot of J-Lo strolling through her old block (where the diva was hilariously dissed out the front of her old apartment) before heading to the judging room, with Idol alum Adam Lambert filling in for Keith Urban (and the first sighting of the embarrassing #TurnUpForIdol hashtag).

First audition off the rank is Sal; a jazz singing, suit wearing, possible relation to Fat Tony. Between winning bets with Harry Connick Jr and hitting on Jennifer, he serenades the group with a Frank Sinatra classic, on which he wins a golden ticket.

Kevin Spacey’s ‘House of Cards’ To Return For Fourth Season

Online streaming service Netflix has announced that ‘House of Cards’ will return for a fourth season. With all 13 episodes of the third season being released in February, it was announced this week that the political drama would be renewed for another season to air in 2016.

Kevin Spacey, who stars as the homicidal US President Francis Underwood, will return with co-star Robin Wright, who plays the wife and first lady to the Whitehouse. The season renewal is no surprise with both actors receiving Golden Globes for their performances on the show. The show itself has had several Golden Globes nominations and won four primetime Emmys, which is the first time an online-only television drama has achieved this much acclaim.

RJ Mitte Goes From Breaking Bad To Breaking Beats

Walt Jr. is swapping crystal meth for DJ decks, with the actor behind the Breaking Bad character, RJ Mitte, set to play an event in New York… aptly named Breaking Beats.

While a little left of field, his DJ spot on the Breaking Bad themed event line up isn’t unprecedented, with some of the other cast dabbling in music. Last year, his cast mate Aaron Paul (aka Jesse Pinkman) recorded a tongue in cheek house track based around his character’s signature catch phrase.

Review: Gotham S01E05 – Drugs Are Bad

Viper. Venom. Evil. It can only mean one thing; Bane. Gotham has been running through the Batman mythology, meeting early incarnations of the Dark Knight’s greatest foes and in the fifth episode of the not-superhero, superhero show, we are treated to seeing the beginnings of Bruce Wayne’s most physically matched opponent.

Before we get into that, though, we’re still dealing with the events of the last few episodes. Specifically, the shady deals made between the Arkham Asylum and Wayne Enterprises, tensions between young Bruce and loveable Alfred, and the growing feud between mob bosses Maroni and Falcone. Gotham is getting tense, and within a few scenes, it’s going to get a lot worse, and, as evil transformations always begin, a bumbling scientist is to blame.
