Triple J announces Money For Rope as the winner of the Triple J Unearthed Push Over competition. Scoring a spot on the line up of Victoria’s longest running all ages music festival, Money For Rope were announced as the official winners today on Lunch with Lewis McKirdy.

If the Triple J Unearthed Push Over winners from the last two years are anything to go by, Money For Rope is set for big things. With 2010’s winner Husky becoming the first Australian band to ever be signed to Nirvana’s label Sub Pop Records in the US and 2011’s winner Big Scary invited to perform at next months SXSW in Austin, Texas.

Likened to Radio Birdman, Sunnyboys and the Saints, Money For Rope are set to rock Push Over festival goers with their crazed rock’n’soul sounds. With the self-confessed jaw-dropping energy of two drum kits, two guitars, a bass, four voices and keys, be sure to check out their set at Push Over this year.

Skrillex and the British Pop starlet Ellie Goulding is rumoured to be dating! That is the new report according to a number of tabloid this morning including the US Weekly and NY Daily News.

The gossip comes from ‘a source’ telling the online magazines that the British singer and the dubstep poster boy/producer have been dating since November.

The source went on to say…
“They’re really good together. Everybody thinks it’s awesome. Both of them are so talented. It’s a great L.A. romance for her now that she hasn’t been in London.”

The two worked together on the track “Summit” so that must have been when things heated up! Not sure how this romance will continue with the distance, but they seem like a cool couple. Three Grammys and a girlfriend? Big week for our man Skrillex!

No doubt we will hear more on this in the months to come. Arguably this will be one of the biggest tours in 2013, especially going by her magnificent performance at the 2012 Super Bowl.

After releasing the Gypsyhook EP in 2009, Moore was scheduled to record his debut studio album, Bells, with producer Noah Shain. However, he ceased production of the album and began performing under the name Skrillex. After releasing the My Name is Skrillex EP for free download on his official MySpace page, he released the Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites EP in late–2010 and More Monsters and Sprites EP in mid–2011. Both have since become a massive commercial success.

On November 30, 2011, he was nominated for a total of five Grammy Awards at the 54th Grammy Awards, including Best New Artist. On December 5, 2011, the BBC announced that he had been nominated for their Sound of 2012 poll. On December 12, 2011, he was also named MTV’s EDM Artist of the Year, ranking in front of successful acts such as David Guetta and deadmau5.

Since his teen days in From First to Last, he’s changed up his appearance, music style, name, and got glasses. Here’s a look at the evolution of Skrillex!

They sing, they make people dance, they were born outstandingly beautiful, fashion forward icons. They are on everyone who knows lips. So who exactly are NERVO??

NERVO are Mim and Liv Nervo, twins from beautiful Melbourne. They emerged as hit songwriters, Kesha to Kylie, Guetta & Rowland, Pussycat Dolls and more. They’ve remixed Katy Perry, 30 Seconds to Mars, Cobra Starship, topping club and sales charts worldwide (‘The Way We See The World’ charted at number 1 in the Beatport electro charts).

Since landing a deal with Virgin America/Astralwerks as artists, they have been working on their debut album – where they not only write, produce but will step into the spotlight and perform. They are also fast emerging as the most sought-after DJ duo in dance music. A feisty tag-team, best known so far for their songwriting collaboration with David Guetta on his Grammy winning smash hit “When Love Takes Over” (performed by Kelly Rowland) – but not for much longer. NERVO are quickly becoming a force to be reckoned with on the club scene worldwide and are due to launch their first artist EP imminently. With William Morris Entertainment as their agency, these London based globe-trotting Australian-born twins are making serious waves on both shores of the Atlantic with their infectious blend of chunky, sexed-up electro-house. They embarked on their second bus-tour of USA in late June – supporting Britney Spears and Nicki Minaj on the Femme Fatale arena shows, launched a Las Vegas residency with the Wynn Group and then they hit the uber-cool Identity run, with the hottest talent on the electronic scene.

Get behind this beautiful duo…
But Guetta always seemed hungry to be more than just a name on other people’s records: In the video for his current hit "Where Them Girls At," he DJs on an L.A. rooftop, turning pedestrians into party people – it's like an E’ed-up version of U2's "Where the Streets Have No Name."

Since his name-making production on the Black Eyed Peas‘ “I Gotta Feeling,” French house-music titan David Guetta has become a go-to guy for pop stars looking to navigate the increasingly techno-fied Top 40. Artists from 50 Cent to Rihanna have rung his studio bell. But Guetta always seemed hungry to be more than just a name on other people’s records: In the video for his current hit “Where Them Girls At,” he DJs on an L.A. rooftop, turning pedestrians into party people – it’s like an E’ed-up version of U2‘s “Where the Streets Have No Name.”

If Guetta’s fifth album doesn’t convince you that he’s the Bono of the four-on-the-floor beat, it does show how good he is at making Eurohouse’s thumping trounce and jet-engine synth whoosh feel like natural elements in the hip-hop, R&B and even rock continuum. The best tracks here work a sure-fire formula: Rapper lubricates the throbbing verse, R&B star pretties up the sweeping ballad-big chorus. On “Little Bad Girl,” Ludacris swaggers while Taio Cruz croons about a sexy club rat. Elsewhere, Usher gets lonely over Coldplay-style guitar (“Without U”), and Nicki Minaj demolishes the club (“All the girls in the back of me/This ain’t football, why the fuck they wanna tackle me,” she raps on “Where Them Girls At”). The epic moment is “Nothing Really Matters,” featuring Will.i.am; it’s the album’s gushiest melody, turning an ode to partying your problems away into a call to escapist togetherness. Guetta and Will.i.am jell so well because they share a vision: dance floor cheese as the glue of humanity.

The early rumours are that David Guetta will be headlining the Creamfields festival in Australia in April 2012.

So we are here with the newly formed trio, born out of Melbourne’s electronic dance music scene – SCNDL, who, comprising of Tommy G, Adam G & Nick Litsis have already set dance floors state wide on fire with their early releases and have been a hot topic of conversation on many OZ label’s lips.

Gents, how are we? Tell us a little about yourselves?
Very well thanks mate! Well there isn’t that much to tell really, we’re three good mates with a love of EDM and a dream to make OUR music not only played around the world but loved and listened to wherever you go!

Sounds great fellas, we wish you all the best! So why SCNDL & what does it stand for?
It doesn’t really stand for anything, we’re not THAT creative, it’s the word SCANDAL with both vowels removed… We thought it was pretty cool, catchy and simple, but you know, we like repetitive kick drum beats as well haha.

Well we definitely like the name! What’s happening in the world of SCNDL at the moment?
At the moment we’re really looking to change the sound that we all listen to in Melbourne (big dreams huh!). We see so much depth around the world and are trying to bring all the flavors with a SCNDL twist to the scene! We’re in the process of working on our EP which will be featuring all types of Electronic music & vocalists from not only here but the US, topping it off remixes from some of the leaders in the Oz scene! It’s all very exciting.

WOW! That’s awesome guys, so we’re guessing this isn’t a weekend project and can expect much more. What kind of sound are you chasing & what influences have you had?
We definitely hope it’s more than a weekend project to say the least! We’ve started off with a more mainstream dirty dutch sound influenced by the likes of Afrojack & Chuckie, but we’re now moving toward a combination of dirty dutch drops, big room synths and festival builds! We make a lot of our own synths as oppose to using present sounds, so we have that unique edge! We’re taking our favorite genre’s and combining them with our own twist!

Sounds funky fellas! Have you had any interest from any EDM labels yet?
Yeah we definitely have! But you know all that’s on a need to know basis right now, but we can say, to look out for our stuff as we WILL have some stuff coming out late this year/early 2012! We’ve also had some awesome support from Oz’s biggest DJ’s regarding our tracks such as the likes of BOMBS AWAY.

Sounds great! Can’t wait to hear some more stuff. Where do you guys see yourself in 5 years?
We’d be happy wherever we are to be honest! As long as we can live comfortably doing what we love (making music) then we’d be happy. Ideally, we’d love to be touring Australia and (if lady luck is really on our side), touring or doing shows throughout the world! That’s the dream. Gotta live the dream!

Goodluck with that! Would be fantastic to see some new blood around the globe. So what’s the next frontier for SCNDL?
We’re gonna keep pushing out floorfiller tracks and searching for that illusive “hit” track! We love what we do and we do what we love, let’s hope that counts for something! Let the music lead the way.

Thanks fellas, we’ll keep both eyes out!
