Tom Jones And Ed Sheeran To Perform At The 2014 AFL Grand Final

The AFL has unveiled that Welsh crooner Tom Jones and British hit-maker Ed Sheeran will kick off this year’s grand final game at the MCG.

Despite being Aussie football’s day of days, the AFL has decided to look abroad for this year’s musical entertainment. They will also stick to the pre-game performance slot, to avoid an awkward repeat of Meatloaf’s cringe-worthy half-time performance three years ago.

Hilltop Hoods Australian Tour 2014 – Cosby Sweater

Aussie hip-hop heavyweights Hilltop Hoods have announced a run of dates across the country to promote their highly anticipated seventh album, Walking Under The Stars.

The rhyme-spitting trio will play 21 dates across this great southern land this October, in both capital cities and rural towns, as part of their Cosby Sweater Australian Tour.

Beyonce And Jay Z To Bring ‘On The Run’ Tour To Australia?

Word on the street is that Beyoncé and hubby Jay Z will be bringing their On The Run tour to Australia.

It is yet to be officially confirmed by either party, however, after appearing on a Ticketek waiting list on a post which wrote: “Be the first to hear Beyonce and Jay Z coming to Australia – login and register your interest” we are reading this sign as little nudge, nudge from a reliable industry source.

Interview: 360 Talks New Album ‘Utopia’ & Upcoming National Tour

Utopia by definition is an ideal place or state. So, as the title of 360’s third album, the name seems fitting. He crashed and burned after 2011’s double-platinum Falling & Flying, which ended with the Melbourne rapper spending three weeks in rehab late last year. However, like the phoenix, 360 rose from the ashes, releasing his epic follow-up, Utopia, earlier this year, and announcing the biggest national tour of his career this September.

Interview: I Killed The Prom Queen’s Jona Weinhofen talks ‘Beloved’ & ‘The Rise Of Brotality’ Australian Tour

Dull is definitely not a word one would use to describe I Killed The Prom Queen’s career. Spanning over 13 years, the Aussie metalcore heavyweights have seen countless lineup changes, a three-year hiatus in 2008 and several studio albums to their name. Now, in light of the release of their third LP Beloved, the band will return home this September for their mammoth Rise Of Brotality Tour.

Missy Higgins Australian Tour 2014

Aussie singer-songwriter Missy Higgins will embark on a national tour this September and October in support of her recently announced covers album OZ, which is set for release alongside her book of essays. According to Higgins’ official website, the soon-to-be mum will play a 12-date run of shows, performing songs from OZ, as well as material from her extensive discography.

Taylor Swift To Reveal New Album Details Via Yahoo Live Stream

Country pop diva Taylor Swift has confirmed that she will hold a Yahoo global web chat early Tuesday (August 19) to “announce some exciting news.”

Although the ‘22’ singer’s lips are currently sealed, we’ll take a stab in the dark and assume that she’s planning to reveal details of her highly anticipated fifth album. As Swift’s previous album Red was released late October two years ago, and she has unleashed a new album every two years since…

Deadmau5 Issued With A Cease And Desist From Ferrari

Deadmau5 has been issued with a cease and desist order by Ferrari, after the progressive powerhouse put his beloved ‘Purarri’ up for sale earlier this year.

From customised plates to badges and stickers of the colourful Nyan Cat internet meme, the Italian automakers were not ‘feline’ Deadmau5’s (a.k.a. Joel Zimmerman) alterations. Hence, a lawyer for Ferrari USA forced Zimmerman to have the supercar’s custom vinyl and badges removed – returning his beloved 458 to its “original vanilla-white paint.” And so, the Purrari is now just a plain ol’ Ferrari.

Hands Like Houses Announce Support Acts For Their Upcoming Australian Tour

Canberra’s experimental rock outfit, Hands Like Houses have announced the support acts for A Tour Of Outer Suburbia this September and October.

Fresh off the back of a mostly sold-out run of shows in Australia earlier this year, as well as stints in the UK and US, the six-piece will be joined on the road by Sydney pop-punk act Forever Ends Here, who have toured with the likes of Neck Deep, Tonight Alive and Heroes For Hire. With a sound that is reminiscent of pop-punk heavyweights All Time Low, the spiky-haired quartet have garnered over 54,000 hits on YouTube for their single, ‘100 Times Over’.

Soundwave 2015 – Who To Watch Out For On Day One

Six days ago, AJ Maddah unleashed the first Soundwave 2015 lineup unto the world. Then came the stream of status updates on social media, which saw punters divided in criticising or applauding Maddah for what he was able to pull out of his promoter hat.

Featuring big names such as Faith No More, Soundgarden, Slipknot, Marilyn Manson, Slash, Fall Out Boy, and many more, the hard and heavy festival is now a spread over two days – to minimise clashes and optimise “dark time.” Kicking off in Adelaide and Melbourne, Soundwave will then move to Sydney and Brisbane the following weekend.

Interview: Frank Iero Of Frnkiero And The Cellabration

If the name Frank Iero sounds familiar it’s probably due to the fact that he lent his guitar prowess to emo-punk outfit My Chemical Romance for the better part of 12 years.

A major force in the mainstreaming of emo – a band that grew to be synonymous with side fringes, eyeliner and everything black – MCR decided to call it quits in March last year. Frank Iero, however, unable to tame the creative beast within, is now flying solo under the moniker FrnkIero And the Cellabration, with his debut album Stomachaches due out Friday August 29 via Cooking Vinyl Australia.

Coldplay Working On New Album And Possible Rihanna Collaboration

They may have only released their sixth studio album in May, however Coldplay front-man Chris Martin has confirmed that album number seven is already in the works, with plans to collaborate with Rihanna.

Review: Hanson At The Enmore Theatre

It’s 1997, and my two sisters and I are watching TV Hits, when three brothers with lustrous locks and angelic voices appear on my television screen. It’s Hanson, and they are singing what will soon be an iconic pop hit of the ‘90s, ‘MMMBop’. We rush into our local Sanity music store and buy their album, Middle Of Nowhere, playing tracks like ‘Where’s The Love’ and ‘Thinking Of You’ religiously on our Discmans, while we argue over which brother (Issac, Taylor or Zac) we will marry…
