Once the nation’s best kept secret, the mainstream has been forced to take notice of the massive underground scene that has been taken to new heights both locally and internationally with the success of bands like Parkway Drive, The Amity Affliction and Dream On Dreamer. And as the music industry struggles to make sense of exactly where it all came from (and how they can get involved), hundreds of young bands are already making headway into becoming the next success to be born out of the scene.

Since his name-making production on the Black Eyed Peas‘ “I Gotta Feeling,” French house-music titan David Guetta has become a go-to guy for pop stars looking to navigate the increasingly techno-fied Top 40. Artists from 50 Cent to Rihanna have rung his studio bell. But Guetta always seemed hungry to be more than just a name on other people’s records: In the video for his current hit “Where Them Girls At,” he DJs on an L.A. rooftop, turning pedestrians into party people – it’s like an E’ed-up version of U2‘s “Where the Streets Have No Name.”

System of a Down, Slipknot, Marylin Manson And Limp Bizkit To Headline Soundwave Festival 2012

After weeks of rumours and speculations, the Soundwave 2012 line up is here! Approximately 60 bands were announced at 3pm today. The organizers have also mention that there will be a 2nd announcement around December.

Bands confirmed so far includes System of a Down, Slipknot, Marylin Manson and Limp Bizkit first time after 10 years since the Big Day Out tragedy.
