Following the success of this year’s Coachella Festival, Porter Robinson will remain on this festival high for Australia’s Splendour in the Grass. In addition to his Friday set at the festival, Porter Robinson will also be performing sideshows in Sydney and Melbourne with a whole new sound.
Known for his upbeat, electronic dance DJ sets, the American Producer will be trying something different for Australian shows off the back of his debut album Worlds. Instead of sampling other musicians, Robinson’s sets will only feature his own samples and tracks, with live instrumental performances.
Released last year, Worlds has already achieved immense success with single Sea of Voices topping the US iTunes electronic chart and coming in at number 5 on both Hype Machine and Spotify’s viral chart. With over 1 million plays on Soundcloud, it’s evident that Robinson’s popularity has soared and his shows at Sydney’s Enmore Theatre and Melbourne’s Forum Theatre are more than likely to sell out before July.
Joining Robinson in his east-coast tour will be fellow Splendour in the Grass act Cosmo’s Midnight, and other Australian act Wave Racer who aren’t on the Splendour lineup but were an obvious choice for Robinson.
