Canberra¡¯s experimental rock outfit, Hands Like Houses have announced the support acts for A Tour Of Outer Suburbia this September and October.

Fresh off the back of a mostly sold-out run of shows in Australia earlier this year, as well as stints in the UK and US, the six-piece will be joined on the road by Sydney pop-punk act Forever Ends Here, who have toured with the likes of Neck Deep, Tonight Alive and Heroes For Hire. With a sound that is reminiscent of pop-punk heavyweights All Time Low, the spiky-haired quartet have garnered over 54,000 hits on YouTube for their single, ¡®100 Times Over¡¯.

Local rock five-piece, Breakaway will also share the stage with HLH¡¯s for selected dates. Currently supporting Taking Back Sunday and The Used on their national tour, as well as receiving kudos from Alternative Press Magazine in their ¡®100 Bands You Need To Know This Year¡¯ edition, these young up-and-comers are certainly one to watch. Alt-rock act, Far Away Stables will also bring their infectious, genre-defying sound to audiences across the country. Playing tracks from their EP Atlantis, which dropped in March this year ¨C the release was hailed as ¡°a rock record that will be on your playlist¡± by KillYourStereo.com ¨C has received airtime on triple j, along with several US stations.

Meanwhile, Hands Like Houses recently dropped the music video for single, ¡®A Tale Of Outer Suburbia¡¯, which sees what is presumably a frustrated housewife screaming lyrics like, ¡°I¡¯ve lost heart, the forest¡¯s scarred/I hear no birds, just TV¡¯s and cars,¡± while she hardcore dances in the middle of the laundry. The video eventually transforms into, what can only be described as, the world¡¯s most depressing foam party as the desperate woman wails and thrashes in a cloud of foam spraying from the washing machine.

Created by Melbourne director, Joshua Aylett, HLH¡¯s guitarist Matthew Cooper gives some insight into the video¡¯s conception.

¡°We have been waiting quite a while to be able to work on a clip with Josh,¡± says Cooper. ¡°He¡¯s an amazing director that we grew up with in Australia and someone that we knew we could create something a little outside of the box with. It¡¯s always interesting approaching video clips with the intention of creating something unique and captivating, separate from the song though as well as complimentary. We absolutely love the final product and it¡¯s definitely one of the coolest projects we¡¯ve been part of.¡±
