They may have only just left Aussie shores three weeks ago, but UK pop-rock outfit The 1975 has announced that they will return to Australia in January 2015.

Touring across Australia last month as part of Splendour In The Grass Festival, the trendy Brit rockers played four sold-out sideshows. Venues were upgraded, second shows were added, and it was pretty clear that the four-piece are a musical force to be reckoned with.

The band has clocked over 400 global shows in the last 18 months, and shows no sign of slowing down, with frontman Matt Healy recently confirming a sophomore album on the horizon for the band.

¡°We¡¯ve been (writing) quite a lot and there¡¯s a lot of new music for the next record ¨C but I¡¯m not supposed to talk about it at the moment¡± Healy told Billboard. The band, he adds, aims to ¡°put out an album two years to the day when we put out the last one ¨C or at least as close as we can get. So it will come out on a Monday (Tuesday in the U.S.) in September of 2015.¡±

In light of their recent success, The 1975 will play a massive run of shows along Australia¡¯s East Coast, kicking off on Thursday January 15 at Melbourne¡¯s Festival Hall before moving to Sydney and Brisbane.

Tickets to all shows go on sale to the general public at 9am on Friday August 22. However, a select number of sneaky pre-sale tickets are available from 9am on Monday August 18.

Tickets for last month¡¯s show sold out in minutes, so be sure to get in quick for your chance to fangirl over the fabulous foursome in the flesh. Check below for more details.
