Extra! Extra! Read all about it. The Soundwave 2015 lineup is massive, and there¡¯s no doubt about it. After months of speculations and rumours, Promoter AJ Maddah has reached into his bag of tricks and pulled out a stellar lineup of hard rock heavyweights from the last 25 years. Leading the charge are Faith No More, Slipknot, Soundgarden, Marilyn Manson and Slash.

It seems that Soundwave arguably grows bigger and better every year, with this year¡¯s bill boasting the likes of Lamb Of God, Fear Factory, Ministry, Papa Roach, All Time Low, Tonight Alive, Of Mice & Men, Incubus and Judas Priest. Acts like Fall Out Boy, Gerard Way (from My Chemical Romance) and Escape The Fate ¨C who were previously synonymous with emos, eyeliner and all of the Myspace angles ¨C will also join the charge.

Fans were already aware of Melbourne metalcore act Confession and Ne Obliviscaris¡¯ inclusion in the hard and heavy festival. Maddah confirmed the news via Twitter earlier this year.

Then punters were teased with a Soundwave 2015 First Wave drip-feed, which included international up-and-comers Coldrain, Patent Pending, Butcher Babies, Monuments and The Interrupters.

With Soundwave¡¯s new two-day format, Maddah promises fewer clashes, longer sets and ¡°twice the dark!¡± Hoping the new format gives fans better value for money, and eradicates the stress that comes with running frantically from band to band, he also guarantees better staging, production and infrastructure.

According to Maddah: ¡°If 2013 was a 10 and 2014 was a five this [2015 lineup] would be a seven or eight.¡± The 2013 lineup featured sets from Metallica, Linkin Park, Blink-182, A Perfect Circle, The Offspring and Slayer, while Green Day, Avenged Sevenfold, Alice In Chains and A Day To Remember headlined this year¡¯s bill. Therefore, if Maddah can hold on to his headliners ¨C he lost Megadeth, Blur and Newsted in recent years ¨C then there might be some truth to his claim.

Despite being spread over two days, fans won¡¯t have to fork out double the cash to secure a ticket. Punters can nab a limited two-day ticket for $188 (plus booking fees), while a single day pass will cost $120 (plus booking fees). Soundwave members pre-sale will kick off at 9am this Friday August 22, with the general release of tickets at 9am on Friday August 29.

Keep in mind that there is more to come, with the second lineup announcement coming relatively soon. There will be an additional 14 bands added to the already mammoth lineup, however, no additional two-day passes will be sold after the follow-up reveal.
