After much speculation from fans, and the media alike, Japanese metalcore outfit Coldrain have been confirmed to join the Soundwave 2015 lineup.

Festival boss AJ Maddah has confirmed several acts for the hard and heavy festival, including local hardcore band Confession, and progressive metal act Ne Obliviscaris. However, the announcement of Coldrain is the first official confirmation for next year¡¯s lineup.

With the help of Music Feeds, Soundwave will be releasing a drip feed of acts who will be playing at Soundwave 2015. So, come Friday, there will be five new bands to stand alongside the short of previously confirmed acts.

After months of pleas, AJ Maddah has heard fans calls and will bring Coldrain to Aussie shores this February. Hailing from Nayoga, Japan, and fronted by half-American vocalist Masoto, the metalcore quintet made their debut in 2009 with, Final Destination.

¡°Brace yourselves, the Japanese are coming. Coldrain are set to be the next big thing out of the Land of the Rising sun, and armed with catchy pop-punk choruses and brutal metal riffs, they could just be the biggest¡± wrote the Secret Sound Shop of Coldrain.

Their debut Down Under couldn¡¯t come at a better time, with their latest full-length effort, The Revelation, set for release in Australia this Friday August 8.

The full festival lineup will boast four headliners and up to 90 acts in total. With next year¡¯s Soundwave to be spread over two days, for the first time, there will also be minimal clashes and longer live sets, which also means less whining on social media. Yay!

According to Maddah: ¡°If 2013 was a 10 and 2014 was a five this [lineup] would be a seven or eight.¡± Soundwave 2013 featured a mega lineup of sets from Metallica, Blink-182, Slayer, Bring Me The Horizon and A Perfect Circle, while this year¡¯s festival showcased Green Day, Avenged Sevenfold, Alice In Chains and A Day To Remember.

Stay tuned for more information, and more juicy lineup revelations, in the coming days. Full festival date and venue details are below.
