Foo Fighters have revealed the official release date, artwork and tracklist for their highly-anticipated eighth album, Sonic Highways.

A follow-up to 2011¡¯s Wasting Light, the eight-track album is set for release worldwide on November 10, with pre-order available now.

¡°This album is instantly recognizable as a Foo Fighters record, but there¡¯s something deeper and more musical to it¡± frontman Dave Grohl said in a statement. ¡°I think that these cities and these people influenced us to stretch out and explore new territory, without losing our ¡®sound¡¯.¡±

The band unveiled the release date in true rock ¡®n¡¯ roll style, with a short clip of Grohl under the gun, getting the phrase, ¡°In the end we all come from what¡¯s come before¡± as well as the infinity symbol, tattooed on his forearm. Meanwhile, an eight-second snippet of what is presumed to be new material from the band accompanies the video, which features Grohl¡¯s raspy screams against a backdrop of slashing guitars and thrashing drums.

Sonic Highways shares its title with the Grohl-led documentary series, which follows the band as they record their eight new songs in eight iconic studios across America. The series will air on October 17 in the US.

¡°Not only the making of our most ambitious album, #SonicHighways is a love letter to the history of American music. Debuts 10/17 @11p on HBO¡± The Foos wrote on Facebook.

Foo Fighters¡¯ Sonic Highways can be pre-ordered on the band¡¯s official website now, along with album-themed merchandise such as t-shirts, flags, puzzles and vinyl. Keep in mind that the vinyl edition of the new album comes in nine different album covers (one for each city in which it was recorded), as well as the previously leaked ¡®Forever¡¯ cover.
