Being in the media spotlight is not without its problems, and when it comes to the pitfalls of fame, UK pop singer Ellie Goulding turns to Taylor Swift and Katy Perry. Despite rumours that Goulding is the subject of Ed Sheeran¡¯s break-up track ¡®Don¡¯t¡¯, where he sings: ¡°Don¡¯t f**k with my love, That heart is so cold¡± she and Swift have remained close friends.

¡°We¡¯re friends because they understand predicaments¡± the ¡®Starry Eyed¡¯ singer told Glamour Magazine of her close friendship with fellow pop princesses, Swift and Perry.

Although Goulding does not share the same level of fame as Swift, she admitted that she struggles with the pressure of being under the watchful eye of media from time-to-time, often turning to the ¡®Red¡¯ singer for advice. According to Goulding, Swift doesn¡¯t sugarcoat her advice, either.

¡°They see what is and isn¡¯t real. I¡¯m not anywhere near their level of fame but if I say, ¡®Oh God, Taylor, this happened,¡¯ she¡¯ll be like, ¡®Girl, that¡¯s nothing.¡¯ Suck it up, kind of thing.¡±

Goulding made her music debut four years ago, when she unleashed her album Lights unto the world. She gained mass media attention in 2012 when she dated dubstep maven Skrillex, and was the recipient of ¡®Best Female Solo Artist¡¯ at this year¡¯s BRIT Awards.

The ethereal-voiced singer added that she likes to surround herself with an entourage of strong women. ¡°I have strong female characters all around me, really cool women. My tour manager is a woman, my manager is a woman. I want to be surrounded by powerful women not men¡± she said.

Goulding recently made the trip Down Under to play a five-date string of shows. The British songstress impressed fans with her multi-instrumental abilities, switching between the drums, electric and acoustic guitar throughout her set.

¡°This little Brit lass embodies everything a musician should, and the fact she manages to display this talent through pop-dance tracks is a credit to her indeed,¡± wrote the AU Review.
