Brother-sister folk duo Angus & Julia Stone will take a ride on a big jet plane this September, when they embark on their Australian tour.

The tour marks the pair¡¯s first national tour since 2011, and will see the siblings serenade fans in some of the country¡¯s most iconic venues, including the Sydney Opera House and Melbourne¡¯s Palais Theatre.

Angus and Julia Stone will bring old favourites like ¡®Mango Tree¡¯ and ¡®Just A Boy¡¯ to Aussie audiences, as well as new material from their upcoming third album, which is set to drop Friday August 1. Produced by the legendary Rick Rubin (Johnny Cash, Beastie Boys, Kanye West), the forthcoming album is said to be ¡°extraordinary¡±.

¡°Angus and Julia are truly unique musicians. They are authentic and pure people who do things from the heart. I¡¯ve never worked with anyone like them before,¡± said the veteran producer, who is responsible for the duo¡¯s regrouping and recorded their new self-titled release at his Shangri La Studios in Malibu.

Joining the Stone siblings on the road will be 18-year-old local Vancouver Sleep Clinic, aka Tim Bettinson, who released his debut EP earlier this year. Described a slow-burning indie-folk-soul, Bettinson told online publication Tomatrax that he aimed to create ¡°the type of music that people could fall asleep to.¡±

The first taste of the sibling¡¯s new material came recently, when they released their first single ¡®Heart Beats Slow¡¯. Rubin¡¯s influence is obvious on the track, with a definite RnB flavour added to the pair¡¯s trademark folky vocals.

¡°He did use the word ¡®groovy¡¯ a lot¡± Julia Stone told Music Feeds in a recent interview. ¡°He wanted to give our sound a bit more groove. His way of doing that was choosing a rhythm section that was predominantly hip hop.¡±

Angus & Julia Stone will also perform at Splendour In The Grass in late July, so get your gumboots and onesies ready people!

Tickets go on sale to the general public at 9am on Thursday July 10. However, Secret Sounds are releasing limited pre-sale tickets next Tuesday (July 8). Check below for further tour and ticket details.
