Grammy Award winner, Taylor Swift is coming to Australia to headline The Red Tour. The tour will be performed in stadiums around the country from Sydney all the way over to Perth.

The tour will be promoted, as well as financially backed by The Frontier Touring Company, who said they are delighted to have Swift on board.

¡°I saw the first stadium show of Taylor¡¯s The Red Tour and Australia and New Zealand are in for an absolute treat,¡± said promoter Michael Gudinski.

¡°Taylor Swift is a superstar globally and has repeatedly sold out multiple arenas in both Australia and New Zealand. She has proven herself to be one of the most significant female artists of our time and it is a natural progression to see her take her touring to the next level here, with the confirmation that she will play four massive stadium shows across Australia this summer¡±

¡°It¡¯s been 20 years since Madonna played stadiums for Frontier and I can honestly think of only a tiny handful of solo artists ¨C male or female ¨C who could fill stadium venues today.¡±

Swift herself was delighted to be touring around the country. ¡°That¡¯s mind blowing and a real honour,¡± said Swift.

¡°One of my favourite things about the connection between myself and the fans on this tour is that it¡¯s a very emotional one¡±

¡°They¡¯re there because they¡¯ve felt the same things I¡¯m singing about at one point in their lives. They¡¯re singing all the words. When you look out at a sea of people in a stadium and 60,000 people are singing back to you it¡¯s an incredible connection.¡±

Swift is currently completing her North America leg of the tour, which has spanned over six months and over 47 cities. She has received critical acclaim for her performances.

Rolling Stone
said that: ¡°seeing Taylor Swift live in 2013 is seeing a maestro at the top of her or anyone¡¯s game. No other pop auteur can touch her right now for emotional excess or musical reach.¡±

While the New York Times said that show was ¡°a king-size spectacle, [whose] juxtapositions have power, one theatrical scene after the next¡± and that ¡°Ms. Swift¡¯s voice is stronger than it¡¯s ever been, and also sturdier¡ she sang vividly from behind a piano, show[ing] credible dark emotion¡±

Tickets for The Red Tour will be pre-sale from Tuesday May 14th to Wednesday May 15th before the general public will have the chance to buy the tickets on Tuesday the 21st.
